ABOUT BRAND

Mah Milk Bar is part neighbourhbood grocery store and part cozy coffee shop. They are passionate about supporting local brands, making delicious coffee and creating a warm, welcoming spot for the community to meet. Whether its picking up a loaf of local sourdough to take home or grabbing a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich before work, Mah has you covered.

HOW I ADDED VALUE

Successfully produced a 5-minute brand documentary, 8 vertical reels for social media, and 15 4K stills showcasing the journey of Maggie and Harry's local grocer and cafe opening, highlighting both the challenges faced and the support received, building a stronger connection with their community.

EDITING APPROACH

The story flow I laid out was Brand Introduction → Challenges → Overcoming → Support & Success

Laying out all of the interview snippets, I sectioned the responses together based on the ideal flow. Trimming down from 2 hours of footage to 15 minutes, and then further down to 5, focusing in on every answer that held strong emotion in its response, in order to better meet our goal of connection.

Music and sound design played a key role in separating the sections distinctly, using specifically chosen shots to transition between these chapters, naturally progressing the story and holding interest.

The goal of the colour grade was to feel like a welcoming, cozy coffee shop, while maintaining contrast to reflect the story of challenges and triumphs and pairing with the sharp light of the sunset cutting through the trees across the footage.
